This year’s Annual Report booklet includes the story from each committee and group about what God has done at Eliot Church in 2019.

You will also find information about something new: a Khmer Ministry Commission that is being formed to help nurture and lead Eliot folks who are bilingual or speak only Khmer. The hope is that this commission will “model leadership that respects the cultural diversity of our congregation and strengthens the connection between Cambodian leaders and leaders from other cultures and ethnic groups.”

The booklet also includes excerpts from the statements of faith of our nominees for Elder and Deacon, as well as financial information, some of which we will vote on during our annual meeting January 27, 2019.

As Eliot’s 150th anniversary approaches, Session is working to imagine our future. A prayer team has been formed in support of that visioning work.

The prayer team had their first meeting after worship on August 12. For now they are giving thanks to God for the ways he has blessed Eliot Church, and they are praying for one Elder each week.

Most of the prayer team’s work happens with each person praying alone at home, but they also plan to meet together in the library after worship on the fourth Sunday of each month. They will pray about programs of Eliot Church as well as local needs, and they will spend time listening for God’s wisdom.

Everyone is welcome to join in praying for the future ministry and mission of Eliot Church, and everyone is welcome to join the prayer team’s monthly meetings. The next meeting will be September 23.
